Farm safety consultation meetings today

By Medicine Hat News on July 27, 2019.

Alberta Agriculture Minister Devin Dreeshan is expected to attend Saturday’s afternoon go-round at the Medicine Hat Stampede Rodeo, sandwiching the event between two “Farm Freedom and Safety” consultation sessions in the region today.
The United Conservative government promised a wide-ranging overhaul, if not outright repeal, of legislation brought in by the previous NDP government during the spring election.
Sessions with stakeholders have been staged this month ahead of changes potentially to be introduced this fall.
The Irvine sports complex will host a meeting tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m. A morning session in Brooks is set to take place from 10 a.m to noon at the Heritage Inn.
No official schedule of consultation sessions has been released by the ministry, though area MLAs Drew Barnes and Michaela Glasgo have promoted the two events on social media.
They asked potential participants to register for the events via an eventbrite site.
