Mavericks felled

The Medicine Hat Mavericks dropped their third game in a row Thursday, a narrow 4-3 decision to the Weyburn Beavers.
At Weyburn to start a three-game set, the Mavs didn’t score until the sixth inning, but couldn’t get the clutch hits needed to pull even or ahead.
Starting pitcher Jaymon Cervantes struck out eight in seven innings but leaving down 4-2. Four Weyburn pitchers combined to limit the Mavs to six hits, led by 5 2/3 innings from Derrek Watts.
