Medicine Hat club soccer teams were in Saskatoon in late May for a tournament, with seven of eight Rattlers sides placing first.

At the Hollandia Cup May 24-26, there weren’t many losses to report as teams frorm under-11 all the way up to under-19 hoisted trophies.

Under-19 boys

The under-19 boys beat Prince Albert’s Celtics 3-2 in the final, avenging their only loss of the weekend. They edged Battleford 2-1 in an earlier semifinal and were 4-1 overall.

Under-15 girls

The Rattlers seemed to get better as the weekend went on, winning their first two games by one run each but wrapping up with wins of 6-2, then 7-0. The latter came against Eastside in the final, highlighted by Shardae Reding’s four goals. Other players of the game included Kiera Schick, Kailey Duchscherer and Audyn Mettauer.

Under-13 boys

Two RASC teams had perfect records – one in Tier 2 and another in Tier 3.

In Tier 2, the Rattlers outscored their opposition 15-1, including a 5-0 final win over Hollandia Hoff.

In Tier 3, a 5-0 final win over Eastside capped a brilliant weekend. Matteo Delgado had eight goals to lead the offence, while Hudson Mastel and Michael MacIntosh had standout performances.

Under-13 girls

It was a third-place finish for the under-13 Rattlers girls, who beat the host Hollandia team 6-0 but fell in their other two matchups. Isabel Garcia and Kylee Schuler had two goals apiece in the win.

Under-11 girls

In Tier 3, the under-11 girls won by scores of 9-0, 10-0 and 8-1 in the round robin. Their playoff games’ scores were not reported, only that they won.

Under-11 boys

Two Rattlers teams dominated in each of the two five-team under-11 boys pools.

One team outscored its opposition 18-4 and went 4-0, while the other posted 12 goals and only allowed one – though they went 3-0-1, with the tie a 0-0 draw. Neither had any playoff games, just four round robin games each.
