Don’t put away the toques, gloves and winter jackets just yet, Hatters. Winter weather is expected to return to the region this weekend. On Friday afternoon a winter storm watch was issued for the Medicine Hat region and the rest of southern Alberta. Environment Canada forecasts a 30 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries for Saturday with a possible thunderstorm added for good measure. But the temperature could reach as high as 14 C before dropping back to 0 C overnight. Expect snow on Sunday, when the forecasted high is -1 C and the low is -13 C. Cool daytime temperatures are expected for the early part of next week and into May, but overnight temperatures are expected to dip below freezing. Similar conditions are expected across much of Alberta next week. 6
