The eighth annual Mega Tournament for local badminton wrapped up Saturday night with plenty of winners among the 669 athletes involved.

But it was Irvine School that claimed the biggest trophy of the event, named aggregate champion.

Led by four division champions, Irvine had more total points than anyone else in the two-day event, which took place at the combined Southridge YMCA and Notre Dame gymnasium.

Irvine’s Kyla Fox won her juvenile (Grade 9) age bracket over Notre Dame’s Francine Suba. Two Irvine teams won in the midget age group. Rielle Blackman and Raylee Robinson claimed the girls doubles crown, beating Vauxhall’s Joanna Park and Eganetha Thiessen in the final. Kierra Zentner and Axton Ferguson won mixed doubles over Dr. Roy Wilson’s Silas Currie and Audin Mettauer. And Levi Munsch won bantam boys, getting by Notre Dame’s Ryder Siegers in the final.
