Hat man charged with murder of Burnaby woman

A Medicine Hat man has been arrested and charged with second degree murder after a Burnaby woman was found dead at a home in Bassano last week. 

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit North, Bassano RCMP, Brooks RCMP, and Brooks General Investigation Section conducted an investigation into the suspicious death of an adult female found deceased at a residence in Bassano in the early evening of Jan. 22.

An autopsy was conducted on Jan. 24 at the Calgary’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Chase Leland Hehr, 36, was arrested on Jan. 25 and charged with second degree murder of June Rose, 24, of Burnaby, B.C. He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Brooks Provincial Court on Wednesday.
