If you love books set in a Canadian landscape and you like to support local authors, there are two reasons to support a new book.
A work of fiction set in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and authored by a local resident will be published within weeks.
“Do not call a devil, for he might appear,” said Russ Meidinger of Medicine Hat about the plot.
In the Rocky Mountains two bow hunters are after some elk and in that quest discover an “ancient demonic entity hidden away from the civilized world … until now,” said Meidinger.
It is an area the First Nations People consider sacred and forbidden because of its dark history.
The book takes the reader on a journey to witness horrifying evil and also provides a glimpse of a cursed future, said Meidinger. For the hunters, nothing will ever be the same again.
The book, Skudakumooch, will be published April 11 by Black Rose Writing, which is an independent publishing house based in Texas.
