Medicine Hat News Monsignor McCoy’s varsity boys basketball team got back to the .500 mark Tuesday, and they did it emphatically. At Dunmore, the Colts laid a 116-48 beatdown on Eagle Butte, which remains winless at 0-5. A 29-7 second quarter was as bad as it got, though the Colts offence kept clicking right through the second half. Chayce Davies and Ethan Smith each had 21 points for McCoy, which is now 2-2 in the Southeast Basketball Conference. Triston Duchscherer led the Talons with 16. In the earlier junior game, McCoy won 94-48. Logan Sonley, Kameron Roberts and Owen Burzminski each had 14 in the win, while Chase Madson’s eight led the hosts. Meanwhile at Crescent Heights, the Vikings junior boys edged Bassano 76-69. Niall Weich had 26 points and Gavin Angstadt 22 for Crescent Heights. 7
