Quinn Skelton has quite a coaching resume, and he’s got another line to add.

The long-time Hat High football guru was named to Football Alberta’s under-17 staff on Tuesday, which will take a team to Maui for the Pacific Challenge next August.

Skelton confirmed the appointment is for three years, and it won’t be the first time he’s been to Hawaii for the event. Past events allowed anyone to join the excursion and several Mohawks have taken advantage of the opportunity in recent years.

The team will now be made up of 40 players who don’t make the under-18 roster headed to the Football Canada Cup but are eligible to try out for that team the following season. Tryouts for that squad begin in January in Edmonton.

Skelton will be the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach on the under-17 side.
