Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat Rattlers women’s volleyball team left Central Alberta empty-handed after a second consecutive loss to the Queens Saturday at Red Deer College. Janelle Neyron led the way with 12 kills while Amber Stigter and Brooke Christie both added 11, but the Queens prevailed with a four-set victory (25-23,14-25, 25-20, 25-19) to send the Rattlers to 3-3 on the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference season. Shaya Suchy led medicine Hat’s defence with 17 digs and setter Jennifer Saj added 36 assists. Britt Davis led the Queens with 15 kills, while Kaylee Domoney added 17 digs to push Red Deer to 3-5 on the year. The Rattlers men’s volleyball team dropped their first game of the season later that afternoon, falling in four to the Red Deer Kings (23-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-14). Dexter Mackie led Medicine hat’s attack with 10 kills, while Austyn Ducharme managed eight digs and Nikola Sreckovic added 25 assists. Red Deer’s Regan Fathers led the Kings with 37 kills, lifting Red Deer to 4-4. Medicine Hat fell to 5-1 with the loss. The Rattlers return to the court Thursday to host the Lethbridge Kodiaks. 10
