If you were to ask me what I thought of online shopping, I would respond that I prefer to shop local but the best feature of online shopping is the reviews.

Before you buy a product, you can read hundreds of reviews. Some good, some bad but all reveal the truth of the quality and function of the product. In today’s society we want a high quality product for an affordable price.

I’m here to tell you that the Alberta Sport Developmen Centre’s services are very affordable and provide the superior service you need to compete at the next level.

How many minutes after a competition do you need to consume nutrients to repair your muscles? If you do not know this answer, come see us. We offer sports nutrition for teams ($150/session) and individuals ($40/session). Kimberlee Brooks, our sports dietician, teaches you about competition nutrition, travel nutrition, hydration, supplements, and much more.

Last year we surveyed our athletes, and 92 per cent of them said they had better and much better knowledge of sports nutrition after their sessions with Kimberlee.

How are you outworking your competition? What are you doing to make yourself faster and stronger than your competitors? We offer team dryland strength and conditioning ($75 per team session) and for individuals ($40/session). These sessions are tailored to meet your needs and are led by our strength and conditioning coaches, Ed Stiles or Alex Graham. Both of our trainers will help you improve your sport performance through your tailored workouts. All of our athletes rated their strength and conditioning knowledge as vastly improved after sessions with our strength and conditioning experts.

Work with our mental skills trainer, Courtney Marchesin, to learn about mental strength, proper goal setting tools and techniques, communication skills, and much more. We offer sports psychology for teams ($150/session) and for individuals ($40/session). When surveyed, 100 per cent of our athletes confirmed that they use mental tools, skills or information when they train or compete. Ninety-two per cent of them said they had better and much better knowledge of mental skills after their sessions with Courtney.

We have an incredibly talented team who can help you achieve your goals and dreams in your sport. Athletes say after sessions with ASDC in strength and conditioning, nutrition and mental skills that their sport performance was better and much better than before attending our training sessions. My team and I work are honoured to work with the top athletes emerging in Medicine Hat, Brooks and surrounding area.

The Alberta Sport Development Centre— Southeast believes that by working together as athletes, coaches, parents, and organizations, we can create the best athletes in our province. The main purpose of the ASDC network is to coordinate and enhance services available to Alberta’s emerging athletes and coaches.

Kristina Segall is the coordinator of the Alberta Sport Development Centre- Southeast and she would love to hear from you and chat with you about the ASDC-SE programs and services. She can be reached via email at ksegall@mhc.ab.ca and via phone at 403-504-3547.
