Hours of operation at the Wild Horse border crossing will again fall back to winter hours starting Monday.

The port, located 145 kilometres south of Medicine Hat, will be open only from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until next spring, the Canadian Border Services Agency announced on Friday.

That agency also reports that in the May to August timeframe, Wild Horse facility processed about 16,000 travellers in 7,000 vehicles.

Further West, the Chief Mountain port of entry to Montana will close entirely Sunday for the season, and re-open May 15, 2019. That crossing, on Highway 6, saw 58,000 travellers in 21,000 vehicles pass though four-month summer period.
