The day couldn’t have been drawn up better for the 32nd annual Toy Run in support of the Santa Claus Fund.

Sunshine and near 30-degree weather brought more than 800 bikers from Medicine Hat and the surrounding area for the annual ride — raising between $20-25,000 in toys for the Santa Claus Fund.

“It was a great ride for us this year,” said promotional director Heath McCaig. “Every year we see around $20-25,000 in toys donated and I think we’re in that range this year.

“There was over 800 bikers this year — that’s a great number for us.”

Bikers left Irvine at 11:30 a.m. sharp and made their way down Dunmore Road while waving to large groups of Hatters looking on.

“This is a tradition for a lot of people,” McCaig said. “There’s a big sense of camaraderie with the bikers and we know there’s so many people in the community who look forward to this every year.

“The support has been amazing.”
