Brooks has new council member after Joel Goodnough wins close byelection

It’s official — Joel Goodnough has been sworn in as the newest member of Brooks city council after the pastor won an Aug. 16, byelection to fill a vacant seat.
Goodnough’s 246 vote total narrowly beat out former city councillor Reg Radke, who garnered 239, and Brian Curtis, with 226.
Other candidates, Cathy Corbett-Schock and Al Zimmer, trailed well back in results, which were declared official on Aug. 20.
A total of 807 ballots were cast in the byelection that was called after first-time councillor Michael Glynn Macdonald resigned in May citing health issues
