Medicine Hat News

The Redcliff RCMP have released surveillance photos of a man suspected of using a debit and credit card reported stolen from a vehicle last month.

Staff Sgt. Sean Maxwell says the detachment released the two photos to get the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

“When we get stuff like that, if we’ve got another couple of leads we look into those, and reaching out to the public isn’t always the first tactic that we take,” he said.

“It can be serious to release photos of people. It’s just one in a line of various investigational steps that we use.”

According to an RCMP news release, the cards have been used to purchase goods at numerous local stores, including the Liquor Barn, AG Foods and the Redcliff South Country Co-op.

Anyone with further information is urged to call the Redcliff RCMP at 403-548-2288, or CrimeStoppers if they wish to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS.
