A local man who pled guilty after selling methamphetamine to an undercover police officer will be sentenced on July 24.

The sentencing for Robert Hafso was supposed to occur Wednesday at Medicine Hat Provincial Court after a pre-sentencing report was prepared.

However, defence lawyer Bradley Bellmore didn’t receive the report until Tuesday.

Although he had the opportunity to read the report, Bellmore expressed concern with the very personal information it contained about Hafso and its potential impact on his client.

The Crown agreed with Bellmore’s request for adjournment.

According to an agreed statement of facts read to court in April, Medicine Hat police heard from four sources that Hafso was trafficking meth from a specific phone number.

Undercover officers arranged to purchase seven grams from Hafso through that number, arresting him and confiscating the phone.
