Permaculture expert hosting educational event this weekend

Medicine Hat’s Community Food Connections Association is hosting its biggest permaculture event of the year this weekend.
On Sunday, from 10 a.m to 4 p.m., Brent Smith from Paperstreet Permaculture and Medicine Hat College will be at the Sheldon Miller Community Garden behind Community Health Services on Dunmore Road.
Smith will discuss creating a rainwater harvesting system and creating a swale with PVC pipes and weeping tile to distribute collected rainwater. He’ll also go over planting around your water tank and creating plant guilds.
The cost is $20 per person. Registration and payment can be done at Community Health Services, 2948 Dunmore Rd.
