Earl’s pads lead atop outdoor soccer league

The Earl’s Phantoms padded their lead atop the Medicine Hat Senior Men’s Outdoor Soccer League standings with a 4-2 victory over the Wild on Wednesday at Rotary Park.

Ryan Anstey potted a pair and Brendan Lutz and Matt Krell rounded out the scoring to push Earls to 7-1 on the season — and six points in front of second-place Ralston, though Ralston two games in hand.

Aziz Said scored both goals for the Wild in the loss, dropping them to 1-5 on the year.

The third-place Alleycat Angels closed the gap between Ralston and Earls with an 8-1 drubbing of the Rattlers Athletic Soccer Club Sunday, leaving them at 3-4 on the year.

Mark Elson scored four goals for the Angeles in the win, while Thomas Hammerton added a piar and Albert Musliu and Fafael Almeida added individual markers.

Jack Coen scored the lone goal for RASC in the loss, dropping them to 1-6 on the season.
