Sun Devils score record 30 goals in landslide win over Venom

The Medicine Hat Sun Devils closed out the regular season with a new scoring record after blowing the Strathmore Venom out of their building in a 30-8 victory on the road Saturday.

The total eclipses the team’s previous mark of 24 goals in a game while also besting the current Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League record of 27 goals, set by the Sylvan Lake Yetti.

Zach Wilson led the charge with seven goals and eight assists, while Aidan McLean added eight goals and three assists and Izaak Loran had a hat trick with seven helpers.

Noah Weimer had four goals and two assists, Damon Phillips had three goals and four assists and Daniel Drefs potted two and added four helpers.

The win follows up Medicine Hat’s 17-6 victory over the Calgary Wranglers Saturday and leaves the Sun Devils at 11-7.
