1925 ~ TONY BOSCH ~ 2018

Anton “Tony” Bosch of Medicine Hat passed away on June 12, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Anton is survived by three sisters; his three children, Anita, Alan and Brent (Donna) Bosch; grandchildren, Taylor and Ryley Bosch, Trina, Christopher, Daniel and Matthew Bosch-Andrews; brother-in-law, Leo (Judy) MacDonald; not to exclude numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Reta Bosch; one brother and three sisters. Anton was born on January 14, 1925 to Joseph and Helena Bosch in Burstall, Saskatchewan to a family of one brother and six sisters. He grew up on the family farm and later chose farming himself as an occupation. In 1962 Anton married Reta MacDonald in Medicine Hat. They lived on the farm at Burstall where they raised their children until moving to Medicine Hat. Anton worked for the Alberta Hail and Crop insurance until he retired. He enjoyed travelling with his wife, Reta, to the East and West Coast as well as Hawaii, Arizona and cruising to Alaska. Anton was known for his generosity, friendly nature, and his example of hard work. His faith was important to him, being involved with church choir and the Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of the Wellington community where he enjoyed helping out in the chapel, movie nights, and other activities. He loved to tell jokes and spend time with his family. He will be remembered as a caring husband, father, and grandfather. 1940 ~ ADELE ALICE PALMER ~ 2018

Adele Alice Palmer passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 12, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Meara Palmer and grandson Coen; her son, Blake Palmer; three sisters; one brother; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Adele was raised in Yellow Creek, Saskatchewan and chose nursing as her career. She attended Saskatoon City Hospital School of Nursing and received her RN degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. She then obtained her Bachelor of Nursing Education at McGill University in Montreal. Adele was a caring and kind person and family and friends were of utmost importance. Other attributes were that she held up her Ukrainian heritage by cooking traditional foods, sharing the language, celebrating important holidays and teaching children Ukrainian folk dancing with the Medicine Hat Folk Arts Club. Adele received the “Hat’s Off” award for her community involvement. Adele was a member of the Horticultural Society and she and her grandson showed their flowers off for the summer garden tours. She was smart, artistic and creative. She loved a challenge. Her special interests were cooking, baking, quilting, paper tole, arts and crafts, and flower gardening. Sincere thanks and deep appreciation for the help, caring and kindness expressed to us by family, friends, neighbours, and healthcare workers during mom’s struggle with neuroendocrine cancer. Robert Henry Bardston of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the age of 68 years. Funeral arrangements will be announced later in July. BRIAN LYNN WALDBAUER

February 4, 1952 – June 9, 2018

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Brian Lynn Waldbauer, beloved husband of Karen, on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the age of 66 years. Along with Karen, Brian’s memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of his family; daughter, Teresa (Ray) Gaetz and their children, Zachary, Tanner and Kiandra; son, Dwayne (Cheryl) Waldbauer and their children, Harley, Holly, Dawson and Mackenzie; parents, Lawrence and Vivian Waldbauer; sister, Alice Hamilton; brother, Gordon (Jan) Waldbauer and sister-in-law, Linnette Waldbauer. Brian also leaves behind Karen’s family; sisters-in-law, Betty Anne (Irwin) Neil and Janice Smithson; brother-in-law, Cliff (Lesley) Bollinger and mother-in-law, Olga Weiss as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his brother, Leslie Waldbauer; father-in-law, Edwin Bollinger; brother-law, Lloyd Hamilton and nephews, Jay Hamilton and Chuck Hauck. Brian’s life revolved around his family. His love for Karen, his children and grandchildren were expressed daily and were his pride and joy. His love of life on the farm, his horses and cattle were his heart. His time riding horses with his kids and grandchildren were his proudest moments. He was wise, proud and always welcoming to family and friends. He touched many hearts with his passion and kindness. His laughter was contagious and he always was full of stories and loved to make others smile. His spirit was unprecedented and he was always there to lend a hand and help out others. Our cherished cowboy rides away……riding his precious colt, Kit he trained and loved. We find peace knowing he’s living the rancher’s dream in heaven with heaven’s horses. Ride Like the Wind Cowboy……….We love you! He is forever in our hearts and memories and will be sadly missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing him. Until we meet again…………. FREDERICK RADLEY HALL

Fred was born in Medicine Hat on June 6, 1933 and passed away peacefully with family at his side on June 9, 2018 at the Riverview nursing home. Fred leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Todd (Linda) of Dunmore and Drew (Heli) of Crowsnest Pass; one grandson, Dustin of Medicine Hat; one step-granddaughter, Petra of Finland; one brother, Grant “Skinny” (Carol); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Heather; his parents, Fred and Jean; and his brother, George. Fred enjoyed a full life. He played for the Medicine Hat Tigers for two years from 1951-53. The following hockey season he traveled by steam ship from New York to Britain to play in the British National League for the Ayr Raiders in Scotland for the 1954-55 season. Fred was traded to the Nottingham Panthers where he played the 1955-56 season. During this time, he met Heather Gough and before returning to Canada for the summer they were married on May 8, 1956. Fred played one more season in the BNL, 1956-57, for the Harringay Racers. The team travelled to Russia and played the Russian National team on Christmas Day outside to a sell-out crowd. Fred lived in many places but always considered his home as Medicine Hat. He was a businessman and had many successful businesses in Medicine Hat (P-Lawson Travel, Craven and Hall Real Estate, Craven and Hall Insurance, Century Homes and Reliance Insurance). One of his business adventures was building the Westlander Inn where numerous famous entertainers came including Joe Firth, Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Hawkins, Bobby Curtola, Keith Hitchner and Ian Tyson. Fred and Ian became quite friendly and Ian wrote and recorded a song about Fred called “Freddie Hall”. As a young boy, Fred raised and kept many animals at their family home on 10th Street. His favorite was his horse, Tony, which one day he walked from Medicine Hat out to the Seitz farm located at Wisdom (south of town). We will miss Fred’s smile, sparkling eyes and sense of humour. Fred was an awesome father, grandfather, father-in-law, husband, brother, uncle, friend and companion to many people. A Private Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. MARGUERITE WHITE

January 29, 1929 ~ May 26, 2018

Marguerite Helen White, beloved wife of James Arnold White, passed away while surrounded by her family at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the age of 89 years. She was born on January 29, 1929, in Moose Jaw, SK., the third of four children to Roy and Mary Johnson and lived in Eastview District near Pasqua, SK. She attended Eastview, Central Collegiate and Normal schools in Moose Jaw and studied at the University of Saskatchewan. During University & College years she taught at Sunny South School in Indian Head, SK., Marmora School in Weyburn, SK., and Davey School at Moose Jaw. Marguerite met James White of Mankota, SK., and they were married on July 2, 1954, at Apostolic Church in Moose Jaw before moving onto Jim’s farm at Mankota. She then briefly taught at Wide View School and was a substitute teacher in Mankota. Marguerite and Jim raised four children on their Mankota farm and she was an active member of the United Church there. They both retired to Swift Current in 1986, before moving to Medicine Hat, AB., in 1993. Marguerite is survived by her husband, James; four children and their spouses, David (Susan) White, Kathryn (Rod) Hutton, Darrell (Val) White, Darren White (Pam Haddock); as well as numerous grandchildren and their spouses and great- grandchildren. Marguerite is also survived by her sister, Marion White and in-laws, Eleanor McClinton, Millie Barker, June Murray, Doreen (Grant) MacDonald, Paul White, Syd (Marlene) White, Richard (Eva) White, Pricilla (Bill) Remple and Earl (Freda) White; including her step-in-laws, Carol Knight, Mary Rivers, Leonard (Gail) Rivers and Marion (Dale) Stewart. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Mary Johnson; brothers, Gardiner Johnson & Jim Johnson; daughter, Karen White and in-laws, Constance Johnson, Gilbert White, Walter Murray, Helen (Donald) Henderson and Bob McClinton; step-in-laws, Gordon Rivers and Gerald Knight. The Celebration of Marguerite’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Lance Duncalfe officiating.
