Medicine Hat cyclist dead following collision with SUV

A cyclist is dead after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in Cypress County.

Redcliff RCMP report that they were called to Township Road 120 and Range Road 62 shortly before 2:30 p.m., after a Buick SUV was travelling westbound behind a cyclist when the collision occurred.

The cyclist, a 64- year-old man from Medicine Hat, succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver, a 74-year-old woman from Medicine Hat, was not injured.

Police say neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in this collision and the investigation is continuing.

No charges have been laid as yet.

The identities of the persons involved will not be released.
