Medicine Hat News So much for a home opener to start the Medicine Hat Mavericks’ season. Although the rain stopped hours before their game against the Brooks Bombers Friday, the Mavs called it off around 2 p.m. It was the second straight day a game between the two teams was rained out. Medicine Hat’s first game of the Western Major Baseball League season is now set for Saturday at Okotoks, where Seaman Stadium is typically packed with a few thousand fans. They’ve got Sunday off and will play one of the rescheduled games with Brooks Monday, 7:05 p.m. at Athletic Park. The other was put off until June 11. 5
