Alberta-wide support line launched for victims of abuse

Medicine Hat News A province-wide helpline to report abuse, receive support, information and referrals is now available. Alberta Supports abuse line is 1-855-443-5722. If you or being abused or suspect someone is being abused or neglected you are welcome to call the number. All calls will be tracked to ensure Albertans receive the supports they need, and it has been designed particularly for those in vulnerable situations such as depending on others for daily assistance. Abuse can be physical, emotional, sexual or financial. This includes hitting, threatening, inappropriate touching or theft of funds. The service will be a single point of contact if Albertans are unsure of where to get help. If someone is in immediate danger or facing a significant health or safety risk, contact 911. 7-6
