A man who assaulted a police officer and two women was given a five-month jail sentence.

Lawrence Guiboche was charged following an incident on Jan. 29, when police were called over a complaint of an assault, and he kicked an officer in the chest while they were arresting him.

Then on Jan. 30, it’s alleged that while heavily intoxicated, he was arguing with two women and broke a meth pipe and held the glass to the two women’s necks, threatening one by saying he’d carve his name into her back and telling the other woman he’d cut off her lips if she spoke again.

Defence counsel said the accused doesn’t have a lot of recollections of the incident, with the joint submission being quid pro quo as the Crown’s witnesses had reliability issues.

Guiboche also has federal charges that were adjourned to June 5.
