Medicine Hat News Employers groups and local unions will mark the National Day of Mourning at separate ceremonies today in Medicine Hat for workers whose lives were lost on the job. April 28 has been designated since 1990 as a day to remember those killed, injured or made ill by workplace hazards and incidents. The local committee of the Alberta Construction Safety Association will hold its annual ceremony at the cenotaph located at the city’s arbororium at the bottom of Scholten Hill. It will begin at 11 a.m. Unions representing workers at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital will again hold a ceremony to mark the day at the facility beginning at 2:30 p.m. A joint effort of the Health Sciences Association of Alberta, the Untied Nurses of Alberta and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees, the ceremony will take place in the atrium of the new ambulatory care wing at the hospital. 7
