A suite for cats is almost ready at Cypress View Foundation seniors residence.

The health benefits of having pets has long been known including reducing levels of anxiety, lowering blood pressure, and simply bringing pleasure to people.

Cypress View Foundation has managed to find a careful balance to provide enjoyment for residents who love cats while the cats are kept away from those who do not.

Double doors, in a short passage way, ensures the cats remain in their own suite and are separated from the main residence. Residents who love cats simply have to go to the cat suite and visit for a while.

Two rooms have been carefully designed to give the cats all the comforts of home while residents can enjoy the comfy chairs and the cats. A third room in the suite ensures the cats have a suitable area for eating and kitty litter.

Suitable murals have been painted on the walls and a carpenter on staff constructed the wooden infrastructure for cats — commonly called catification.

The cats are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
