Cars and Guitars announces lineup for August event

Medicine Hat classic rock lovers are one step closer to their biggest weekend of the year.

The annual Cars and Guitars festival announced its lineup for the Aug. 17-19 show this week, with a number of tribute shows to look forward to.

Friday kicks things off with a classic car cruise, starting at 6 p.m. downtown and ending 8 p.m. at the Canalta Centre.

Once the clock hits 8. Aerosmith Rocks, an Aerosmith tribute band, will take the stage.

There will be a classic car show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, with many events taking place during the show, including beer gardens, food trucks, retail vendors, dyno runs, and a local live music competition.

An AC/DC tribute band will take the Canalta Centre’s stage with Bed of Roses, a Bon Jovi Tribute band at 8 p.m.

The event has added a new feature this year, with drag racing taking place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Medicine Hat Speedway.
