Nominations open for Chamber of Commerce Business Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the Medicine Hat and District Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Business Awards.

The annual awards — now in their 18th year — are held in support of National Small Business Week, and will be presented on Oct. 12.

Businesses and organizations can be nominated in the following categories:

Business Ethics Award, Community Involvement Award, Customer Service Excellence Award, Employer of Persons With Disabilities Award, Employer of Youth Award, Export Award, Franchise of the Year, Innovation Award, Large Business Of The Year, Marketing Excellence Award, New Business Of The Year, Small Business Of The Year, Southeast Alberta Shines Award, Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

“Since 1900 the Chamber of Commerce has been supporting businesses,” stated Perry Deering, Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce president, in a press release. “As part of our service to the business community, we take the opportunity to celebrate outstanding accomplishment, success and leadership in our community through our annual awards.”

Nominees from these local awards have also gone on to compete at the provincial level at the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction.

The deadline to nominate a business is May 31, 2018. Nominees have until June 29, 2018 to submit required documentation for nomination(s).
