Medicine Hat News One man is in custody following an armed bank robbery at a local TD Canada Trust Bank on Monday. Medicine Hat Police report that on April 2, at 5:30 p.m., a male suspect entered the branch located at 1951 Strachan Rd., where he produced a handgun and demanded cash. Upon leaving the bank with the stolen money, witnesses were able to obtain a description of the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was located and arrested by officers several hours later. The suspect remains in police custody while the Medicine Hat Police Service Major Crimes Section continues the investigation. As no charges have been laid, police have not released the name of the suspect. He is facing potential charges of robbery with a firearm and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence. In a press release, the MHPS offered thanks to the public who assisted with this investigation, as their assistance, along with other investigational leads resulted in the arrest of the suspect within hours of the offence. 9
