Warren Vancuren of Medicine Hat Brewing Company has been chosen Business Person of the Year for 2018 by Medicine Hat College.
Warren Vancuren may be hoisting a cold beer in celebration today. Lucky for him he has easy access to a brew.
Vancuren, who currently operates Medicine Hat Brewing Company with his wife and two sons, has been tapped as Medicine Hat College’s 2018 Business Person of the Year.
“There are a lot of well-known business leaders in our community, so to be nominated and selected was something that I didn’t expect. My success is to be shared with all the people that have been part of my business team throughout the years — my various business partners and the great mentors who have worked with me,” says Vancuren in a release from the college.
Vancuren has previous experience in the oil and gas industry and land ownership and development in Medicine Hat after getting his start in entrepreneurship by helping his parents run and upgrade a Melfort, Sask., motel.
Vancuren will be honoured March 28 at the Building Future Leaders event, an evening which connects MHC students with business people in the community. Building Future Leaders was formerly known as Connecting Students to Business.
