Medicine Hat News

Medicine Hat’s Wildcats might have got a spot at peewee B girls hockey provincials because they’re the hosts, and on Thursday they proved they’re no host team to take lightly.

The Wildcats beat the Lethbridge Cyclones 5-2 at the Kinplex, never trailing and constantly putting pressure on their opposition.

Affiliate player Jayda Becker scored twice for the Wildcats, who got other goals from Brianna Finke, Kennedy Sisson and Riley Gramlich. Taya Christie made 24 saves.

Mayz Vance and Ava Hopkins replied for Lethbridge.

Medicine Hat plays Innisfail at 2:45 p.m. today.
