Hatters looking to change their lives still have one week left to sign up for this year’s Classic Winner weight loss competition.
Running in its eighth consecutive year, but in its first under the Classic Winner moniker, the contest runs for 12 weeks and aims to get its contestants into the best shape of their lives.
“This is something for people who have tried everything to lose weight, and that are looking for an educational and science-based platform,” said trainer Todd Schneider. “We teach people during this. We take them through specific diet plans, we teach them about human metabolism, and this stuff has been created by a professor and an education.
“Everything we do is education-based, and we wanted to teach our participantsto train properly at their level, and teach them the basics about nutritional sciences.”
Schneider says people can expect a lot of changes in the 12 weeks of the program.
“People can expect a decrease in body weight — they’re going to see an increase in cardiovascular endurance, they’re going to see an increase in lean-muscle mass,” he said. “With that, they’re going to become more mobile, more agile — doing things like walking up stairs, getting into a car, stuff like that will get a little easier.”
Schneider says the program is created for people with no knowledge of weight loss or dieting, and for those who may want to do something like this out of the public eye.
“Our 12-week challenge is aimed at fitness-naive people,” he said. “This is a very safe, non-judgmental environment. Our club is not full of jocks, it’s actually quite the opposite. It’s a lot of people who are struggling with their weight and want that private environment.”
