Christmas lights start coming down next week

It will stop looking a lot like Christmas, starting Monday when crews begin removing holiday light displays from light standards and city facilities.

Depending on weather, the lights will begin coming down in various parts of Medicine Hat starting on Jan. 29, according to release.

Areas include downtown, First Street SE, the Maple Avenue Bridge, Eighth Street NE, Division Avenue N., Kingsway Avenue and South Railway Street, Trans-Canada Way, Carry Drive, Dunmore Road and 13th Avenue SE.

Pedestrians and motorists are reminded to be aware when crews are working and obey all traffic signs and speed limits in the area.
