Pedestrians are out of luck trying to cross the South Saskatchewan River on the Trans-Canada-Highway.
The only pedestrian sidewalk, located on the west side of the highway, is barricaded at each end.
“There has been a build-up of ice and debris along the sidewalk on the bridge over the South Saskatchewan River, which was becoming a hazard to pedestrians,” said a spokesperson for Alberta Transport. “The City of Medicine Hat and Alberta Transportation are working collaboratively to clear the debris and to re-open the sidewalk as soon as possible.”
