1925 ~ ART ROTH ~ 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur “Art” Roth, beloved husband of the late Hedwig “Heddy” Roth, announce his passing on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Art was born in Burstall, Saskatchewan to a farming family of 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He married Heddy in 1947 and they moved to Hanna, Alberta to farm. They returned to Medicine Hat and Art went into the construction business working with his father-in-law, Bob Preuss. He returned to his farming roots for a time before entering real estate until his retirement. Upon retirement he and Heddy enjoyed travelling and spending time with their family, friends and grandchildren. He is survived by his two sons, Glen (Kathy) Roth and Allan (Cathy) Roth; four grandchildren, Tyler (Kirstyn), Justin, Sherrie (Josh) and Kayla (Mike); five great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tatum, Michael, Haven and Braxton; two sisters, Mabel Pfahl and Lillian Grusie; two half-brothers, Manny Roth and Lee Roth; and brother-in-law, Edgar Hofer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Art was predeceased by his wife, Heddy; his parents, Jacob and Emma Roth; Jacob’s second wife, Christina Roth; two sisters, Irene Job and Rose Grusie; one brother, Oscar Roth; one half brother, Harry Roth; and sister-in-law, Olga Hofer. The family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Society for their wonderful care and kindness shown to Art. A Private Family Time of Remembrance will be held at a later date. BRENT MURRAY NOWICKI

November 3, 1952 – December 29, 2017
Brent Murray Nowicki, 65, passed away unexpectedly on December 29th while vacationing in Mexico. He is survived and sadly missed by his wife, Renee, three children, Leslie-Ann, Kyle (Kim), and Lacey, and three precious grandsons, Tyson, Nate and Zak Nowicki. He is also survived by his five brothers, Randy, Ken, and Brian Nowicki, and Bill and Dale Logan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Brent’s wonderful sense of humour and his willingness to lend a helping hand will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Nowicki and his sister, Lorrie. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.


DILLMAN

July 21, 1916 – January 12, 2018
Ralph Dillman, age 101, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2018 at the St. Joseph’s Home in Medicine Hat Alberta. Ralph was predeceased 4 short months ago by Elizabeth, his wife of 70 years. He is survived and loved by his children; Rose Marie (Allan) Jones, James (Sandra), Philip (Karen), and Thomas; grandchildren, Sherry (Blair), Laura (Matt), Martha (Dennis), Aaron (Lindsey), Cori Lynn and great grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Chris, Liam, Carmen, Nina, Sydney, Bailee, Riane, and Taylor will also lovingly remember him. He is also survived by a brother Adam and his sisters Katherine and Millie. Ralph was the second oldest of eleven children in the Anton and Mary Dillman family. Over the years he was predeceased by both of his parents, brothers; Tony, George, Mike, and sisters; Monica, Annie, Barbara, and Rose. Ralph farmed at Portreeve, Saskatchewan until 1979 when he and Elizabeth retired and moved to Medicine Hat. All of his life he enjoyed the company of people. While still on the farm daily trips were made to town to pick up the mail and stop at Jack’s garage to visit whomever was there. During retirement in Medicine Hat the visiting continued, most often with neighbours over the fence but sometimes just with people walking by. Visits from family were cherished and extended stays were encouraged. In 2013, both Ralph and Elizabeth moved from their house in Crescent Heights to the South Country Village Care complex in Medicine Hat. Here he resided until poor health forced a brief palliative stay at St. Joseph’s Home where he passed away. Last but not least, special thanks needs to be given to staff at Haven Care Centre (South Country Village) and St. Joseph’s Home for the compassion shown and the impeccable care given. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the church on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. John Maes celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. DONNALEEN CAMERON TOKAMP

1959 ~ 2018
Donnaleen Hope Cameron Tokamp was born on May 18th, 1959, the youngest of four children, to Roy and Marion Cameron in Calgary, Alberta. Donna was a free spirit that lived her life to the absolute fullest, never afraid to be herself, she inspired others to live the same way. She loved her family deeply, Sunday dinners were the highlight of her week. Family vacations, camping, visiting relatives and whale watching off Vancouver Island were some of her favorite memories. As an avid bowler for 38 years, she enjoyed coaching all 4 of her children, and many others through their YBC years, going as far as the National level. She enjoyed her league nights with “Kranky’s Krew” for well over a decade. Through her life she was employed at Dominion Glass, Redcliff Esso, and 7-11 Canada for 28 years. Donna passed away on Friday, January 12th, 2018 in the arms of her loving husband Bobby, with all her children by her side. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Bobby; her children, Deanna Tokamp (Nick Anderson), JoDana Tokamp (Dustin Tizzard), Bobbi-Jo (Josh) Bennett and Tyler Tokamp (Jenni Cummings), all of Medicine Hat; two grandchildren, Faith Tizzard and Jordin Volk; one brother, Roy (Gail) Cameron of Dunmore; one sister, Tereena Cameron of Medicine Hat; her mother-in-law, Zonia Tokamp of Medicine Hat; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends; and her dogs, Pacco and Monte. Donna was predeceased by her mother, Marion Cameron; and one sister, Shirlene Deering. Special thank you to Dr. Woodley and all the staff at Carmel Hospice for their genuinely compassionate care of our Donna as well as Dr. Stephen McNeil from Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Foothills Medical Centre for his ongoing care through the years. FRANCES BEWLEY WIGGINS (nee ROPER)

Fran, beloved wife, Mom, Granny, Great-Granny, and friend passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the age of 98 in Medicine Hat. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander (Al) Herbert Wiggins, her daughter, Pat Keeler; her sister, Margaret (Price) DeRycke; her daughter-in-law, Linda Wiggins, and her granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Keeler. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Nancy (Jurgen) Jurgeleit of Medicine Hat and Nancy’s son, Jean-Paul (Bernadette) Cheret and Nancy’s daughter, Claudette (Jeff) Markusson; son, William (Bill) Wiggins of Drumheller and his children, Rhonda (Rocco) Angone, Tyson (Jessica) Hunter, Troy (Toni) Wiggins, and Megan (Steve) Johnston; daughter, Barb (Leif) Petersen of Pilot Bay, BC and their sons, Rick (Sunny) Petersen and Jeff (Janice) Petersen; son-in-law, Garth Keeler of Kelowna, BC and his daughter, Alison (Corey) Daly and son, Scott Keeler as well as twenty-four great-grand-children. Fran was born on April 20, 1919, in a log cabin in Caroline, Alberta and raised and educated in the Lacombe area. She was interested and skilled in everything from comptometers to calligraphy, babies, books, and bridge. Fran and Al married in 1943 and raised four children while living in Calgary, Medicine Hat, Winnipeg, and Lethbridge before retiring in Medicine Hat. Fran always kept her family connected. Her love, laughter, and support blessed us all. As Mom often said, “It has been a privilege and a pleasure”. A celebration of Fran’s life will be held later this spring on Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Medicine Hat.
