The City of Medicine Hat has set a date to return to the previous transit system. The former system, which was in place until Sept. 5, will return on Nov. 27. After an uproar among transit users and the community at large over the new system — in which users experience delays, long waits and long walks to reach stops — council on Sept. 18 passed a motion to revert to the old system. According to a release from the city, the restoration of the previous system includes all routes, signage, schedules, weekend and statutory holiday coverage, and peak and nonpeak services that were provided prior to Sept. 5, 2017. This also includes the reinstatement of the Transit Terminal as the main transfer hub. The city says a new Ride Guide with maps and schedules will be made available in print and online. Questions can be directed to the Transit line at 403-529-8214 and staff will be available near the transit stops outside the Esplanade from 8 a.m-5 p.m. Nov. 14-24 to answer questions about routes and schedules. 6
