City man charged in Saturday hit and run

A Medicine Hat male has been charged following a hit and run on Saturday evening.

On Oct. 21 at about 9:40 p.m. police responded to a report of a hit and run in the 900 block of Bassett Crescent NW involving a vehicle described as a white Dodge Ram. Upon arrival police contained the scene and a male, who had fled the scene on foot, was found, with help from the K-9 unit, hiding in a nearby backyard.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the hit and run.

The suspect, 43 years old, is in police custody awaiting a bail hearing. He is charged with impaired driving, refusing a breathalyzer, dangerous driving and breach of parole. The name is not being released at this time pending charges being sworn in court.
