1943 ~ PATRICIA CONNELL ~ 2017 Patricia May Connell (nee Patterson) of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at the age of 74 years. 1945 ~ DEANNA INKSTER ~ 2017 Deanna Grace Inkster of Medicine Hat, beloved daughter of the late Andy and Harriet Inkster, passed away on Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, at the age of 72 years. Deanna is survived by her three sisters, Shirley McDonald, Donna Kennedy, and Sheila (Ernie) Sentes all of Medicine Hat; her nieces, Grace (Curt) Backlund, Michelle (Joslin Webster) Kennedy; nephews, James Inkster, David Sentes, and Richard (Corrie) Inkster, and their families. Besides her parents, Deanna was predeceased by her sisters, Joyce Cameron and Arlene Belcourt; and her brothers, Lawrence, Jim, George, and Graham; and her niece, Sharyl. Deanna was born in Battleford, Sk. and raised in Prince Albert, she lived in Medicine Hat since 1978. Deanna was a client of REDI, a longtime volunteer at the Heart and Stroke, and most recently a resident at Cypress View Lodge. Deanna loved playing bingo at the Lodge or on her IPAD, dominoes, casino slots, Elder’s lunches and potlucks at the Miyawasin, but mostly she loved being with people and her pet buddies. She liked country music and Metis celebrations. We would like to thank the nurses, doctors, therapists and staff at 5E who looked after Deanna during her stay. 1954 ~ JAMES SATRE ~ 2017 With deep sadness and despair, we announce the untimely passing of James Dale Satre on Thursday, October 12th, 2017 at the age of 63 years. James was a gentle soul who had a strong affinity with nature. James spent much of his free-time travelling, he enjoyed going on outdoor adventures alone and with his family. His passions included photography, reading and caring for his plants. As a Red Seal Chef and self-employed painter; he had many connections within the community and will be greatly missed by many neighbours, friends and family. James is survived by two sisters,

BILL WUTZKE 1934 – 2017
William Wutzke, passed away in Bow Island with his beloved wife Louise by his side on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the age of 82 years.

Besides his loving wife Louise, he is survived by his son Bruce (Cheryl) Wutzke of Bow Island and their children Eric Wutzke and Rebecca Wutzke; daughter Lynn (Allen) Strom of Bow Island, Lynn's children, Michael (Jennifer) Knapik (Hudson, Scout, Poet and Ruby), Leanne Taylor (Richard Smith), Lisa Knapik (Jenn Harrison), Sarah (Jon) Lehn; their father Doug (Carol) Knapik; Allen's children, Analise (Paul) Brocklesby (Parker and Ayla), Erik Strom, Kristine Strom (Jon Fell) and Michael Strom. He is also survived by his sisters Lucille Christensen and Marge (Elmer) Ensminger; brother Robert (Doris) Wutzke; sisters-in-law Anna Wutzke and Jeni Gibson as well as one aunt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Henrietta Wutzke; brother James Wutzke; father mother-in-law Eugene and Katherina Gibson; brothers-in-law Doug Albers, Ed Christensen and Harold Gibson; nephew Billy Albers.
Bill was born in Medicine Hat on October 23, 1934 to Edward and Henrietta (nee Rothe) Wutzke. He lived most of his life on the family farm six miles south of Conquerville. Bill attended Lancaster one room school for grades one to five. He then attended Conquerville Consolidated School for grades six to ten. It was here, in grade six, that he met the love of his life, his sweetheart Louise Gibson. They began dating when she was in grade four. Bill attended part of high school in Medicine Hat; he left school to help his dad on the farm. Bill and Louise were married on October 29, 1955, and took over the farm when his folks retired to Bow Island. He always loved farming. Lynn was born in 1957, followed by Bruce in 1959. Also in 1959, Bill added a new facet to his farming adventure by taking flying lessons. Next this flying farmer purchased T&D Aerial Spraying Ltd. in 1964. For the following years, he served many farmers as their aerial applicator, along with caring for his family, crops and livestock. In 1978, Bill and Louise moved to their new home in Bow Island and relocated the spray business to the new airport there, along with continuing to farm. Bill added a second plane to the fleet and for several years Bruce sprayed alongside his Dad. They also, along with Bill's brother Robert, operated Red Fox Aviation, a commercial charter service. The planes were parked in 1996, when Bill decided to keep his feet on the ground, and the last plane and hangar were sold to Nathan and Carla Hoffman in 2011. Together Bill and Louise spent many winters in Arizona as rockhounding snowbirds, and are charter members of the Medicine Hat Rock and Lapidary Club. Bill created beautiful jewellery. Bill and Louise made many good friends along the way, adding to their lifelong farm community friends. They officially retired from farming in 2015.

MARTIN DRESCHER 1934 ~ 2017
Martin Edward Drescher passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Josephs Home-Carmel Hospice, Medicine Hat on Sunday October 15, 2017, at the age of 83 years. Martin was born on July 5, 1934, in Prelate, SK., where he grew up on the family farm. Martin married Margaret Leech on June 1, 1957, in Medicine Hat, where they raised their family of eight children. He was a loving, caring and considerate husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved to camp and fish while surrounded by friends and family. During his favorite time of year (Christmas) he was the biggest kid around the tree and presents. Martin will be remembered for his yearly garden and Sunday afternoon lawn dart games. He loved to watch baseball especially the Blue Jays. Martin cherished time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow and play. He loved to joke and will be remembered for his smile and laughter. Martin was predeceased by the love of his life, Margaret Drescher (nee Leech) of 59 years; he is lovingly survived by his eight children, Mike (Sheila) Drescher, Deb (Rod) Lippert, Sherry Nevins, Brenda (Andrew) Tokamp, Dennis (Laurie) Drescher, Greg (Terry) Drescher, Bonnie (Gabe) Graham and Jason Drescher; along with 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Cora Rieder, Rose Ulland, Henry (Hazel) Drescher as well as many nieces and nephews. Martin was predeceased by his parents, Gregor and Maria Drescher (nee Schmierer); brothers, Joe, Markus, Peter, Paul, Tony; sisters, Margaret, Ann, Christina and Regina. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private family Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with an Afternoon Tea afterwards in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. SIFTON It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barbara Lilian Sifton. Barb passed away in the Bow Island Health Centre on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the age of 92 years. Barb leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Richard (Dick) Sifton of Bow Island; two grandsons, David (Kim) Sifton of Edmonton and Dan (Stephanie) Sifton of Oxbow, Saskatchewan, and their mother, Phila Munn; two granddaughters, Cheryl (LeRay) Gehring of Rockyview, Alberta and Kim (Blaine) Bohnet of Bow Island; eight great grandchildren, Joel and Aaron Sifton, Mathew, Dorian and Samantha Sifton, Chance Gehring, Kendra (Jens) Klempnauer and Troy (Maria) Bohnet; two great great grandchildren, Greyson and Emery Klempnauer as well as her two sisters, Jackie (Ted) Middleton and Jean Cook. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sifton in 2006; one son, Reginald Sifton in 1978 and her daughter, Doreen Tollifson in 2010 and numerous other extended family members. Barb was born on March 12, 1925 in Lyleton, Manitoba. She married the love of her life, John Sifton on October 9, 1944 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing. They lived in numerous places but their favourite was up north in Wellington Lake, Saskatchewan where they were one of two families running the hydro plant. Barb loved nature and enjoyed living in the north. She loved the black bears in her back yard, feeding birds and having a dog that was part wolf. She also enjoyed travelling by helicopter to and from Uranium City. In 1980, they moved to Medicine Hat where Barb worked for many years at Boylans Drugs down town. Barb had a love for nature, garage sales, knitting, crossword puzzles, playing cards and being with family. She was a wonderful Ganga and we will forever cherish her devoted love. For the past 5 years Barbara resided at the Bow Island Health Centre. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the staff who helped take care of her.
At Barbs request there will be no funeral service, but a private family burial will be held at a later date.
