Medicine Hat News A Medicine Hat man who allegedly drove a vehicle into a fence, house, vehicle and then another house in the Ross Glen neighbourhood earlier this summer was arrested again on a new charge of disqualified driving. A judge granted the release of the 41-year-old man Tuesday at the Medicine Hat Courthouse, on conditions that include paying $500 cash bail, a 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, the requirement he abstain from alcohol and drugs, and that he not operate a motor vehicle. Police are not releasing any information at this time about this newest disqualified driving charge, or the simple drug possession charge that accompanies it. The man’s next court appearance for these new charges is Sept. 20, to give him time to retain counsel. Charges are still pending against this same individual for a July 29 incident, where just after 10 p.m. a 2013 Ford Explorer had left the street hit a fence and a house on Ross Glen Road. While attempting to leave this scene, this vehicle proceeded to strike a truck, then turned on to the cul de sac of Rideau Place and struck a house, causing significant damage. Estimated damages given by police at this time were $100,000. Police announced at the time they would be charging the man with impaired riving, driving over .08, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. The case going before the courts has since been delayed, pending results for blood alcohol levels from the RCMP laboratory, at which point the information can be sworn and a new court date established. 9
