Still short of signatures, gender policy petition again rejected by SD76

SD76 has rejected a petition put forward by Concerned Parents of SD76, a local group opposed to the school district’s Policy 622 on Gender and Sexual Identity, for the final time. According to SD76 secretary/treasurer Jerry Labossiere, the petition re-submitted on July 21 still fell 67 signatures short of sufficiency. School board chair Rick Massini says Concerned Parents will now have to go back to the drawing board to start a whole new petition on the district’s revised Policy 622 in order to advance this issue any further. 4-3
