Mickey nets her second silver

Redcliff’s Sarah Mickey added a second silver medal at the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg last week.

Mickey, who’d already finished second in discus, threw a shot put 6.20 metres Friday to be the runner-up to Ontario’s Julia Hanes. Her seated effort was only the fourth-longest distance thrown, but translated into second-place points based on her level of disability.

Medicine Hat’s Tiana Pisoni finished 11th in triple jump last week with a distance of 11.21 metres. She now trains in Lethbridge.

Fellow Hatter Cassie Fischer is also in Winnipeg, her wrestling competition taking place later this week.
