Two Hatters arrested on host of drug and firearms offences

Two Hatters are facing drug and firearms charges after police received information about illegal drugs and guns and subsequently executed search warrants at a home in the 2200 block of Southview Drive and on a storage container on Feb. 23. As a result police seized two SKS semiautomatic rifles, one pump action shotgun, one prohibited drum magazine, ammunition, stolen property, 57 grams of mushrooms 5.8 grams of marijuana and $14,070 cash. Sean Sterling Engel, 27, faces 12 charges including extortion, breaking and entering to steal a firearm and a raft of drug and firearm possession charges. Tameka Marian Hazelaar, 22, faces nine charges, mostly related to possession of drugs and firearms.Engel has been held in custody since the arrest and will next appear in court March 7.
Hazelaar’s next court appearance is schedule for today.
