We mourn the passing of a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Pauline Boyko, who passed away on Sunday, October 30th, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Pauline leaves to cherish her memory one son, Dr. Percy (Rebecca) Boyko; two daughters, Carole (Kevin) King and Gail (Keith) Wyper; three grandchildren, Bris English (Mike Prince), Holly Boyko and Dr. Landon (Christina) Boyko; and two great grandchildren, Elise Troughton and Roman Boyko. 1935 – JACOBER – 2016

Bernice Lorna Jacober, beloved wife of the late Lawrence (Yogi) Jacober, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the age of 81 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Deb (Barrie) Schnell, Sherry (Randy) Biko, Cindy (Morley) Arnott, Calvin (Shelly) Jacober, and Blair (Lisa) Jacober; her grandchildren, Jamie Schnell, Cody Biko, Kyle (Tanya) Biko, Braden (Amanda) Arnott, Riley Arnott, Dylan Jacober, Carly Jacober, Amber Jacober and Shelby Jacober as well as two great grandchildren, Kaydance Biko and Jace Arnott, and her treasured companion Yoda. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 2008, her parents Bertha and John Reuer, her in-laws Martha and Emil Jacober, her brother Ken, brother-in-law Harvey and a grandson Taylor Arnott. Bernice was born in Medicine Hat in 1935 and grew up in Redcliff. She married the love of her life, Lawrence, in 1953, and they raised their family in Medicine Hat. Mom enjoyed flower gardening, bowling, and camping. She was a skilled seamstress and created numerous different kinds of crafts; which are treasured by her family. For many years Mom and Dad went dancing every weekend and attended numerous Polkafests. She was an avid reader, and knowledgeable about many topics. Mom valued education and kept up with all current events. Mom was the nucleus of the family and will always be remembered for her devotion to us all. We learned many great life lessons under her guidance. She cherished time with her family, especially big family dinners. Dad and Mom will once again be able to dance together. A celebration of her life will be held in the Kin Social Room (2055 – 21 Ave SE) on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm. HUDEC

It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Hudec Sr. announce his passing on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the age of 84 years. He leaves to cherish his wife Agnes of 51 years. His children Nancy (Daryl) Mastel of Liebenthal, SK and their children Kayla and Brooke; Natalie (Todd) Van Maarion of Medicine Hat, AB and their children Tia and Teagan; Frank (Keri) Hudec of Fox Valley, SK and their children Lacey, Tyler, Jake, Ryan, Shelby, Kennedey and Ali (Monty) Ternes and their children Joel and Alana.
He also leaves to cherish his memory his brother and sisters Rose Murphy, Alex (Marguerite) Hudec, Anne Hesse, Margaret Freidt, Emma Martin and Monica (Don) Walters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Cecilia Hudec and his siblings Toby (Josephine), John (Justina), Tom (Anne), Daniel (Dorothy), Mary (John) Szostak, and Peter; his step brothers Joe (Grace), Andrew (Kay), Louie (Anne), and Tony (Signa); his brother-in-laws Joe Hesse, Tom Freidt, George Martin and Walter Murphy.
Frank was born on June 4, 1932 on the family farm SE of Fox Valley, SK. He was proud to call Fox Valley home and his greatest passions were farming and ranching there. He spent a number of years working on the Yeast Ranch before returning to the homestead, where he farmed and ranched for the remainder of his life.
He married Agnes Keller on October 30, 1965 and they raised three children. He took pride in raising Charolais cattle with his son, who will continue to reside on the homestead and carry on the farm and ranch. He was a cowboy at heart and raised and trained numerous horses over the years – a passion he passed down to many of his children and grandchildren. Grandpa loved spoiling the grandkids and always had a good supply of ice cream ready for their visits. He loved to joke – when all of the work was done – and his big heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Prayers will be held at St. Mary’s Parish, Fox Valley, SK on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 7:30pm (SK time). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish, Fox Valley, SK on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:00am (SK time) with Father Hoang Nguyen officiating. The Interment will take place at the Fox Valley Cemetery following the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fox Valley Recreation Board. Mr. Joseph Frank Lamirade, beloved husband of Mrs. Shannon Brett, passed away at the Bow Island Health Centre on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the age of 72 years. Joseph also leaves to cherish his memory his uncle, Amos Klyne as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Joseph was born in St. Ambrose, Manitoba on December 5, 1943. He played hockey in his youth including a short time with the New York Rangers. Joseph was a successful businessman, an avid golfer and someone who loved music. KRAUSS

Amelia Krauss of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the age of 96 years, beloved wife of the late William Krauss Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Delores (Les) Seitz of Medicine Hat and Terry (Lorie) Krauss of Red Deer; four grandchildren, Trevor (Aniece) Seitz of Calgary, Shawn (Kimberley) Seitz of Morinville, Emily Krauss (Graeme Buffett) of Victoria and Sarah (Josh) Janzen of Red Deer; four great grandchildren, Summer Seitz, Portia Seitz, Jett Janzen and Bennett Janzen; one brother-in-law, Reinhold Krauss of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William on November 17, 1997. Amelia was the youngest of her family and predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters.
Amelia and William were married on November 22, 1938. They farmed in the Gros Ventre District until 1969 when they moved to Medicine Hat. Amelia enjoyed crocheting for extra money, quilting at the church, and was an excellent seamstress. She loved spending her Sunday’s with her friend Ida, who picked her up to go to church and then out for lunch after. In the early 2000's, Amelia moved to Chinook Village where she happily spent time with other people, playing cards, going for coffee on Friday’s, and neighbourfest. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 10:00 a.m to 10:55 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Enslen officiating.
