DARLENE HERMAN 1962 ~ 2016Darlene Gale Herman, beloved wife of Wayne Herman and mother to Ashley Campeau, Nichole Herman and Zachary Herman, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the age of 54 years. Mr. Gordon Dixon, beloved husband of the late Violet Dixon, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the age of 86 years. HAAG Dennis Rodney Haag passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the age of 65 years, beloved father of Lindsey (Lonnie) Gebhart. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Evan and Hayden Gebhart; Lindsey’s mother, Lorraine; his sisters, Carol (Merv) Wiens and Donna (Bruce) Stuber; his niece, Cora Mercer and his nephew, Cameron Wiens. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Sara Haag. Dennis was born on April 11, 1950 in Medicine Hat and raised on the farm at Horsham, Saskatchewan and later, Manyberries. Eventually he took over the family farm until he sold in the late ‘80's. He then bought an acreage south of town and moved his family there. Dennis was an avid sports fan, especially of the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Blue Jays. Most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren “his boys” participate in sports, especially hockey. He enjoyed fishing, his horse Buck, his hot tub, growing flowers in his garden and mostly eating sunflower seeds. The funeral service will be held in Temple Baptist Church (606 7th Street SW) on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Marcel Mitchell officiating. KURTZ Delphine Doris Kurtz of Medicine Hat passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice with family at her side on Friday, April 1, 2016, at the age of 86 years, beloved wife of the late Clarence Kurtz. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lyndell (Terry) Brekko, Barry (Helen) Kurtz and Michele (Barry) Bitz, all of Medicine Hat; ten grandchildren, Tara (Steve), Tyler, Tobi (Sebastian), Kyle (Lauren), Braden, Christina (Kenny), Mitchell, Colton, Janae (Ben), and Kristen (Walker) and nine great grandchildren, Sophie, Ewan, Isla, Chase, Easton, Hayden, Dexter, Aria and Kyden. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence on February 28, 2008; her mother, Hilda Cove, her father, Fred Robinson and her brother, Allan Robinson.
Delphine was born on February 8, 1930 in the old Medicine Hat General Hospital to parents, Frederick Charles and Hilda (nee Stuber) Robinson. On December 4, 1948 she married Clarence Kurtz in Medicine Hat. Delphine was a very kind and loving person and made many friends throughout her life. She had worked for 30 years at the Medicine Hat Co-op grocery store and at one time, knew many of her customers member numbers. In the early years, Delphine and Clarence enjoyed camping and had many wonderful outings with close friends. They also looked forward to annual trips to Las Vegas. As retirement neared, they became avid lovers of golf and spent some February’s in the Lompoc, California area. After retirement, they spent many summers in their trailer at the Elkwater Golf Club where they golfed, laughed a lot with friends and family, as well as made time to volunteer to assist the club. Following Clarence’s death, Del enjoyed a couple years at a condo in Chinook Village then moving on to Meadowland’s Retirement Residence in October of 2014.
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Victory Lutheran Church (2793 Southview Drive SE) on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. James C. Bredeson officiating. A private family interment will take place prior to the service. RONALD LANE 1933 – 2016
Ronald James Lane, beloved husband of Norma Lane, passed away in Bow Island on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the age of 82 years.

TARNASKY Percy Leslie Tarnasky passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the age of 70 years, beloved husband of Pearl Tarnasky of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Wayne (Shirley) Tarnasky of Cadomin and O’Brien (Marion Madge) Tarnasky of Elkwater; one sister-in-law, Daisy Legere of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Mary Tarnasky.
Percy was raised on a farm in the Hilda area. As a young boy he spent many of his days shooting gophers and fishing. Eventually he took up playing the piano and accordion and with his brother Wayne entertained at many social events. It was playing at a dance he met Pearl and they married in 1967.
In past years Percy and Pearl enjoyed camping trips to the local lakes where they spent their time fishing. Percy enjoyed most of his life time hunting and fishing , he went on numerous hunting trips with his father, Uncle, brothers and friends. Percy was very artistic and loved to draw wildlife. He was also an outstanding fly tier and loved to reload ammo much to his brothers delight.
He worked for the City of Medicine Hat as a meter reader for over 31 years ending his career as a supervisor.
Percy was a kind and honest person who will be missed by his family and friends.
No funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
