1922 ~ KRAMER ~ 2016 Teana Kramer of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Fred Kramer, passed away on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Teana leaves to cherish her memory her son, Grayson (Annabelle Lee); her daughter, Judy (Bill) Hartley; eight grandchildren, Brad Kahler, Russell (Teresa) Kahler, Corrine (Marlin) Kary, Kevin (Candice) Engel, Curtis Engel, Kim (Chris) Caudle, Rod (Shelly) Kramer, and Jennifer Ardiel; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Fauser; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Teana was predeceased by her husband, Fred; her parents, Christian and Mathilda Makus; one daughter, Janette (Lawrence) Kahler; six brothers, Robert, John, Alfred, Bern, Ray, and Henry Makus; and four sisters, Emily Fischer, Elsie Schneider, Anne Schamuhn, and Hilda Odenback. Teana was born on January 5th, 1922 west of Golden Prairie where she was raised and educated. In 1962, she moved to Medicine Hat and was a seamstress for many years working at Raber's from 1971 to 1981. Teana was a member of Temple Baptist Church since 1962 and volunteered in many areas. She enjoyed reading, sewing and baking. Teana will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery gates at 12:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at WUERFEL AUDITORIUM, 1720 Bell Street SW, on Saturday, February 27th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Marcell Mitchell and Pastor Bob Findley co- officiating. 1926 ~ BARAGAR ~ 2016 Noble "Buster" Baragar of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Irene Baragar, passed away on Monday, February 22nd, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Buster leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Douglas (Roberta), Herbert (Tammie), and Dwight (Sherry); one daughter, Norma (Tim) Stubbert; seven grandchildren, Tara, Derek, Michael, Marah, Troy, Kendra and Angela; five great grandchildren, Brett, Ethan, Zarayah, Genesis and Nicholas; two brothers, David and Douglas; two sisters, Evangeline "Vanji" Laube and Shirley Code; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Buster was predeceased by his wife, Irene Baragar in 2004; his parents, Douglas and Lydia Baragar; and one brother, Len. Buster was born on June 8th, 1926 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He spent his entire career in the oil patch. He was the 27th employee for Halliburton before starting his own oilfield consulting business. 1934 ~ DOANE ~ 2016 Barbara Iola Doane of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Robert "Bob" Doane, passed away on Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at the age of 81 years. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory one son, Greg Doane; four grandchildren, Chelsea Doane, Kate Fagan, Brandy Retelback, and Jordan Retelback; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Brian (Karen) Jarvis and Ron (Jacquie) Jarvis; three sisters, Anna (Bob) Wells, Betty Jarvis, and Gloria Whiting; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Bob Doane; her parents, William and Vera Jarvis; two daughters, Colleen Doane and Jacqueline Doane; four brothers, Jim Jarvis, David Jarvis, Charles Richard Jarvis, and Donald Jarvis in infancy; and one sister, Doreen Ostash. Barbara was born on May 21st, 1934 in Bashaw, Alberta. Following the passing of her mother, Barbara raised her brothers and sisters. She loved married life and spending time with her children. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, traveling and family gatherings. Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of our mother, Doris Rose Connell. Mom was welcomed to heaven , with open arms, by dad, her lifelong love and deeply missed husband George Connell, as well by her parents George Palmer (Medicine Hat), Florence Grohn (Brooks, AB), son-in-law Lorne Knutson (Iddesleigh) and grandson Adam Elliott (Seven Persons). She will be missed and remembered by her children, Tom Connell of Medicine Hat (Christopher), Kathryn Knutson of Iddesleigh (Shawn and Wanda – Preston; Jaime and Shane – Kaylee, Olivia; Lorene and Vince – Izebell, Dominic, Clancy); Karen (Keith) Hellman of Medicine Hat (Richelle – Kaila, Christopher; Jessi and Tyler – Taylor, Austin; Sarah and Chris); Meryle (Dale) Elliott of Seven Persons (Rob and Hunter); her sister Meryle (Leo) Hillairet of Langley, B.C. and brother Billy (Delores) of Vancouver, B.C. Mom was born and raised in Medicine Hat, where she probably is best remembered for her endless cups of coffee and over- flowing plates of food she served her customers/friends. She proudly owned and operated numerous restaurants during her life. Corona Restaurant, Doris’ Coffee Shop, Redcliff Esso, Jenner Hotel Coffee Shop, then back to the Depression Daze at the Corona, where she retired after the passing of Dad. She enjoyed her retirement with her family, and spending time in her home that she loved. Mom left us to join dad on the 15th year anniversary of his passing. Forever Remembered… Gail’s dedication to her family, church and community will not soon be forgotten as evidenced through the tremendous show of support at the celebration of her life just over one week ago. St. Andrew’s United Church was overflowing with support from all those whose live’s Gail touched. Rev. Masterman offered a message of hope to family and friends trying to cope with their loss. Special tributes from the family were later followed by a slide show of precious memories, encouraging everyone to continue sharing their stories during the fellowship that followed.

J. BYRON PARSONS March 13, 1931 ~ February 19, 2016 With sad hearts the family of Mr. John Byron Parsons, beloved husband of Mrs. Doreen Parsons, announce his peaceful passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the age of 84 years. Byron was born in Grenfell, SK., on March 13, 1931, to John and Mary Parsons. After growing up on the farm he was hired by the Toronto Dominion Bank in 1950. On March 14, 1953, Byron married L. Doreen Redfern, his high school sweetheart. Their son, Larry arrived in 1956; son, Terry in 1957 and daughter, Margo in 1961. Thirty eight years with the bank meant 13 moves from Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, making many lasting friendships along the way. Over the years, Byron enjoyed farming, playing ball, curling, golfing, fishing, hunting, trap-shooting and endless card games. He was a private pilot, a Shriner, a Rotarian, a poet, and aspiring painter, a jack of all trades and a man of many talents. Byron mastered playing his harmonica and worked at doing the same on the guitar. After retiring in 1997, Byron and Doreen moved from Regina to Medicine Hat, spending their winter months in Mesa, AZ. He became a member of the local wood carving club and the Happy Hatters. Byron’s beautiful carvings will now adorn all of his grandchildren’s homes as a remembrance of “Gramps”. We will all miss his sense of humour, his love of life and his fighting spirit. Byron will be lovingly remembered by Doreen, his wife of 62 years; son, Larry (Laurel) of Kelowna, BC., and family, Kristi (Brendan) Nelson, Shannon Parsons (Collie), Mitchell Merritt all of Calgary, AB., and Mathew Merritt of Revelstoke, BC.; son, Terry of Kelowna, BC and his son, Brandon of Red Deer, AB.; daughter, Margo (Fabian) Delwo of Medicine Hat, AB., and family, Justin Delwo of Toronto, ON., Trisha (Kevin) Churcher, Jared Delwo both of Kelowna and Carina Delwo of Medicine Hat, AB., three great-granddaughters, Eva, Juliana and Ayla; siblings, Doug (Lynn) of Grenfell, SK., Kathy (Glen) Smith of Moose Jaw, SK. and sister-in-law, Mary Parsons of Regina, SK., numerous nieces and nephews who shared special occasions and places in his heart as well as his relatives down-under in New Zealand. JALBERT Vivian Louise Jalbert of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the age of 80 years, beloved wife of the late Marius Jalbert. She leaves to cherish her memory seven children, Kevin (Charlene) Jalbert, Owen (Wendy) Jalbert, Randy (Joanne) Jalbert all of Medicine Hat, Wanda (Garry) Erker of Liebenthal, Todd (Nancy) Jalbert, Arlen (Shelly) Jalbert all of Medicine Hat and Camille Jalbert (Rick Ayotte) of Lethbridge; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother, Ken (Bev) Sopczak of Saskatoon; one sister Marguerite Chomyshen of Outlook, Saskatchewan and three sisters-in-law Anne Sopczak of Calgary, Evelyn (Johnny) Kostal of Assiniboia, Mabel Jalbert of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Ann and John Sopczak; her husband Marius on June 8, 1994; one son, Mark Jalbert in 1958; two brothers Jerome Sopczak and Timothy Sopczak and one sister Jackie (Clare) Martin. Vivian will be remembered by many for her dedication as a mother, grandmother and community participant; her various skills, most prominently being the profession of tailoring. She loved to create wedding dresses, suits, various garments and children's clothing; and passing it on to others through instruction. She found peace and contentment in experiencing the great outdoors. Her compassion and willingness to help others will not be forgotten. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2ernd Ave N.E.) on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr.
