1920 ~ STOCK ~ 2015

Robert Stock passed away on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 at the age of 94 years and 8 months in the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Julia (Staudt); three daughters, Marlene (Archie) Sackman, Gloria (Ross) Fitzpatrick, and Bev (Helmut) Henschke; five grandchildren, Taralie and Troy (Sandy) Fitzpatrick, Cindy Lutz, Jennifer and Bob Henschke; two great- grandchildren, Kayla and Austen Fitzpatrick; one brother, Edward (Helen†) Stock; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Fredericka Stock; three brothers, Emil (Natalia), Bill (Katie) and Otto (Viola); and four sisters, Mildred (Gottlieb) Werth, Freda (Oscar) Reiling, Lillie (John) Schwab, and Mary (Jack) Schafer. Robert was born on December 5th, 1920 on the family farm at Richmound, Saskatchewan, where he spent a lifetime dedicated to his family and farm. They retired and moved to Medicine Hat in October of 1978. Robert enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his many family and friends. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Robert was always a faithful, dedicated worshipper at Victory Lutheran Church. His family would like to thank the nursing staff on 5East and 6West for the wonderful compassionate care they gave to our family and daddy during his hospital stay. Raymond Ernest Hamel of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, August 24th, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Raymond leaves to cherish his memory his five children, Rita Hamel, Michael R. Hamel, Michelle (Rick) Robinson, Renee (Rudi) Tschritter, and Marcia Hornby (Daniel Turcotte), and their mother, Ida Hamel; four grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron and Caleb Robinson and Reece Tschritter; one brother, George (Sandra) Hamel; one sister, Roseann Moser; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Alphonus and Flora Hamel; one son, Michael A. in infancy; two brothers, Joseph and Norman; one sister, Elsie Hamel; one sister-in-law, Linda Hamel; and one brother-in-law, George Moser. CLEM GOBEIL

1946 ~ 2015
Clement Harvey Gobeil was born on March 13, 1946, in Shaunavon, SK., and passed away at his home in Redcliff on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the age of 69 years. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, Clayton Gobeil and Rose (George) Day; granddaughter, Tiffany (Patrick) Conroy; great- grandchildren, Destiny Conroy and Joshua Conroy; mother, Juliet Regamey; brother, Dennis (Karen) Gobeil as well as his niece, Rhonda (Alan) Tymmns. He was predeceased by his father, Harvey Gobeil. Clem worked long and hard hours in the oilfield as a consultant and made many friends there. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his main passion in life was always his family! Clem always had a smile and always wanted to help out or solve the problem. MATILDA SCHULER

July 10, 1924 ~ August 24, 2015

Matilda Schuler passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, August 24, 2015, at the age of 91 years. Left to cherish Matilda’s memory are two brothers, Sam and Ruddy Schuler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Christian and Christina Schuler; two sisters, Frida Schuler and Mary Brusky as well as eight brothers, William, Albert, Benjamin, Emanuel, Gustave, Walter, Samuel and Adam. Matilda was born in Burstall, SK. on July 10, 1924. This is where she grew-up and took on the responsibility of helping raise her younger siblings in their family of thirteen children. As a young adult, Matilda moved to Medicine Hat, her home for the last 60 plus years. She had a strong faith in God and made every effort to attend the weekly services at St. Paul Lutheran Church. For a number of years, Matilda was very active with REDI, making many good friends there. She was very crafty, especially when it came to crocheting and knitting. Matilda maintained an active lifestyle during her years at Meadowlands. Whether shopping (she loved shopping for jewelry), reading, doing puzzles, word searches, playing cards or bingo, she did it with a smile. She was very sociable and often shared her contagious laugh while enjoying holiday family dinners. Her giving and thoughtful nature will live on in the hearts of all those who were privileged enough to be a part of her remarkable life! A Celebration of Matilda’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, August 28, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Prairie View Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. Rose Kay Stoppler of Bow Island passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015, at the age of 89 years, beloved wife of the late Konrad Stoppler. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Peggy Willman, Darlene Young and Debbie (Dale) Wheeler; eight grandchildren, Juanita (Kelvin) and their children Kyla, Kirk and Kali; Murray (Brooke) and their children Luke and Jack; Rhonda (Darren) and their children Olivia and Halle; Brent (Stephanie) and their children James and Jaidden; Wade; Darcy (Tessa) and their son Ben; Kimberly (Gary) and their children Kyler and Daylen; and Kendra (Rob) and their children Raynah, Kenna and Lacey; two brothers, Ed (Marlene) Luciak and Bill Luciak; one sister, Helen (Willard) Richards; three sisters-in-law, Irene Luciak, Doreen Luciak and Alma Stoppler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Annie Luciak; her husband, Konrad; three brothers, Donald, John and Joe and two sisters, Mary and Dorothy in infancy. Rose was born to William and Anne Luciak and lived in Hodgeville, Sidewood and Piapot Saskatchewan. She married Kon Stoppler on November 12, 1944 in Hodgeville. They resided in Piapot for 46 years where they raised their family. Rose worked at the Piapot Hotel Café, Wheel Inn Café, as a janitor at the school as well as babysitting for families. She was busy with hobbies, knitting, sewing, quilting, crochetting, playing Skip-Bo and crib and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. In the fall of 2007, Kon and Rose moved to Bow Island. It was there that they met Clara and Don Fraser who became very special friends.
