1929 ~ FYTEN ~ 2014

Eleanor Shelah Fyten, beloved wife of Lou Fyten of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 2nd, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Eleanor also leaves to cherish her memory four children, Darrel Fyten, Lorne Fyten, Ardith (Randy) Akerstrom, and Donna Cayenne (Tim Yamazaki); five grandchildren, Matthew Stokes, Kyle (Kayla) Akerstrom, Chantel Akerstrom, Jesse Cayenne, and Justin Cayenne (Shareen); one brother, Earl McKone; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Elsie McKone; one brother, Ralph McKone; one sister, Kathleen Pinko; and one daughter-in-law, Sylvia Fyten. Eleanor was an avid gardener and loved flowers. She was a great cook. Eleanor was a very humble, gentle person who was also hard-working and tough-minded, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. The Memorial Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dallas Hjorth officiating. MILLER

Mary Miller passed away peacefully at Riverview Care Centre on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the age of 97 years, beloved wife of the late Mathias Miller. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Adeline Gunderman of Medicine Hat, Delores (Bob) Maynard of Calgary, Maggie (William) Durrschnobel of Berwyn, Irene Beachesne, Loretta (Ernie) Lefebvre and Jim Miller all of Medicine Hat; two sons-in-law, Ralph Ries and Bob Kimmie; twenty three grandchildren; forty two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Veronica Getz and Theresa Mardian as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Ressler; her husband, Mathias in 1984; two daughters, Violet Ries and Jeanette Kimmie; one son-in-law, Laurence Beauchesne; one daughter-in-law, Irene Thares; two great grandchildren, Jaylen Hieb and Robin Ries; five brothers and four sisters. Mary was born on April 29, 1918 in the Rosenthal area of Saskatchewan. On October 17, 1937, she married Mathias and together they farmed in the Richmound area. Mary enjoyed gardening, fishing, bowling and trips to Las Vegas. She was an excellent cook, her specialty being creamed chicken. Mary’s family would like to thank Riverview Care Centre for the excellent care of our mother over the years. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr.
