1938 – 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of Alan Walker announce his passing on April 25, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat at age 76 years. Alan was born December 21, 1938 in Edmonton, Alberta to parents, Marion Jean and John Turner Walker.
Alan was predeceased by both parents and brother, Gregory Thomas. He will be dearly missed and always remembered by his loving wife, Ruth; son, Douglas (Lana); grandchildren, Zackary and Abyrana; nieces, Cindy (Mike) Marcotte, Sheri (Mike) Molag, Stephanie (Stu) Beacon, Stacey (Joe) Parsons, Sheyleen (Leon) Pfeiffer, Shannon (Jeff) Borschawa; nephews, Sheldon (Alisia) Mumby, David (Shannon) Burch; special cousins, Etta (Bob) Morgan, Gordon (Anna) Walker and Iain (Joan) Turner; sisters-in-law, Erna (Wilf) Hall, Frances Cotton, Sylvia and Linda Goertzen; brothers-in-law, Pete Hiebert, Louie Wudrich, and many other extended family and friends.
Early in his life, Alan was enthralled with airplanes. Very patriotic and a proud Canadian, no one stood taller than he did when he enrolled in the Royal Canadian Air Force in December 1956. He proudly served every minute for 37+ years, retiring in 1994.
His love for airplanes and the RCAF was only surpassed by his deep love for all our family members. He treasured each and every one so much. Also very proud of his Scottish heritage, Alan revelled in every opportunity to uphold traditions.
During retirement he enjoyed RVing and being a ‘snowbird’ for several years. As well, he loved living in Meadowlark Village, enjoyed all the people and so many good friends, socializing and helping with events and activities at the clubhouse.
A Memorial Service and reception in Alan’s memory will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel & Reception Center, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat next week Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan’s memory may be made to the charity of choice or the Rainbow Society of Alberta, 6604 – 82 Avenue, Edmonton AB T6B 0E7. DENNIS RAMSDALE

1934 2015
It is with great sadness that the family of Dennis Keating Ramsdale announce his peaceful passing on Monday, April 27, 2015, at the age of 80 years. Dennis was born in Red Jacket, SK., on December 24, 1934. Along with his loving wife Doreen, he leaves to cherish his memory: son, Brian (Gwen); daughter, Brenda; two granddaughters, Nicole (Gavin) Brinsmead and their sons, Declan and Keenan; Kallie (Jaydee) Freimark and their daughters, Isabelle and Emma; one sister, Eileen as well as two step-sisters, Doreen and Donna. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, one step-brother and one step-sister. Dennis was a private person who cared deeply for his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Dennis made life enjoyable for those around him. He loved wearing his cowboy hats as well as telling stories and jokes, especially while at McDonald’s for coffee. Dennis enjoyed owning and restoring his vintage cars, wood working, sports and his trips to Las Vegas. At Dennis’ request, a Private Graveside Service will be held honouring his life at Hillside Cemetery with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Dr. PATRICIA CARTER – LeCOMPTE

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia, on April 25, 2015, at the Gimli Community Health Center.
Patricia was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on, March 21, 1942. She was predeceased by husband Jude LeCompte; nephew Paul Ward; parents Archdeacon J.W. and Mabel Carter. She is survived by brother Dr. David Carter (Jean); sister Anne LaRue; nephews Robert Ward (Denise), Darren Ward, Steven Ward (Angie); nieces Heather Carter, Maureen Petropoulos (Paul) and their families; cousins and friends in Canada, England, U.S.A. and Arabia.
Patricia was educated in Medicine Hat, Alberta and trained in England as a R.N. and Midwife. She returned to nurse in the Lake Harbour, Baffin Island, Newfoundland and Calgary. Her nursing experiences next took her to hospitals in the Middle East and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There she became involved in Total Quality Health Care Management. She was a respected, teacher, presenter, lecturer and the author of numerous learned papers in this area. She served on several international boards with distinction and received well earned professional recognition.
In 2010 Patricia returned to Canada, moving to Churchill, Manitoba as Patient Safety Officer until 2012 then retiring to Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. Patricia was a world traveller and enjoyed sharing her many interesting experiences.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to the doctors and all caregivers at the Gimli Community Health Center for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 2:30 pm. at All Saints Church, Whytewold, Manitoba, officiants Dr. David J. Carter and The Rev. Robin Mather. Interment to follow in August in the family plot at St. Margaret’s Church, Eagle Butte, Cypress Hills, Alberta.
