Rattler Roundup:Rattlers men’s soccer splits weekend on the road

The Medicine Hat College Rattlers men’s soccer team ended the weekend on a high note.

The Rattlers won their second of back-to-back matches, beating the Olds College Broncos 4-1 Sunday after falling 2-0 Saturday to the Red Deer Polytechnic.

Felipe Vaalladares, Yosef Teame, Jire Nzeyimana and Joel Lehr all scored unassisted goals in the first half for the Rattlers in Sunday’s win.

Maksymilian Slaweta turned aside the lone shot he faced for the shutout.

In Saturday’s loss against Red Deer, Slaweta made eight saves.

The women’s soccer team was also in action, picking up a draw and a loss.

Maisa Rebello scored the Rattlers’ lone goal in a 1-1 draw Saturday against Red Deer and Abby Lalach made four saves. Keandra Leslie scored in a 3-1 loss on Sunday against Olds College. No goalie stats were recored in that game.

The men’s (2-4-2) team is not in action this weekend while the women (3-5-1) host the University of Alberta-Augustana on Sunday.
