Monarchs pickup win over home weekend

The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs ended their weekend on a high note.

The Monarchs notched a victory to cap off the three-pack of games they had this weekend, dropping the first two.

Medicine Hat lost back-to-back games against the Billings Scarlets on Saturday, falling 7-0 and 6-4.

In their first game, Jeff Bullock, Evan Morrison, Cade Harrison and Kayne Olinski each had a hit. Koby Eskestrand started the game on the mound with a strikeout in 5.1 innings pitched. Harrison took over on the mound and picked up a strikeout in his 1.2 innings.

Morrison led the way for the Moose Monarchs in their 6-4 loss, knocking out a homerun, Harrison added two RBIs on two hits, including a double. On the mound, Morrison struck out five batters in 6.2 innings pitched, Trevin Ressler pitched out of the bullpen with 1.1 innings of work.

The Moose Monarchs finished the weekend off with a 6-5 victory over the Scarlets. Ressler led the offence with a hit and two RBIs. Waylan Watson had two hits with an RBI and Graceon Little added two hits of his own.

Jeff Bullock started the game on the mound with two strikeouts in three innings of work. Tyler Straarup came out of the bullpen and recorded two outs, one of them a strikeout. Olinski picked up the win on the mound with a strikeout over 3.1 innings of work.
